Can I pair my iPhone 4 to my iPad 2

iPhone 4/iPad 2/iPod touch4, iOS 4
I was just reviewing this discussion with same frustration but then ... finally ... found this Apple article which is very simple and straightforward and seems to work perfectly in pairing the ipad and iphone.
Who knew?
Did you solve this problem? I only bought my ipad2 to do presentations using keynote and using my iphone4 as a remote. I have reset networks but still can't pair the two devices. Really irritating. Any suggestions? Thanks
Yes, I did solve it and used my iPhone4 paired with my MacAir when giving a speech yesterday a large meeting room. Worked fine.
If you open the app on the iPhone, you will see an opportunity to create a <New Keynote Link>. It will present a 4 digit code to you. When you go into Keynote>Preferences>Remote, a box should appear in which you enter the 4 digits and then you're paired. It is critical that they be on the same Wi-Fi network so they can see each other.
I hope this helps. Let me know if I can do anything else to help you get this resolved.
Network - Bluetooth or wifi 3G on iPhone4 - on iPad2 = Bluetooth and then pair and then you get personal hotspot
And then you are using 3G for Internet access if no wifi available else where...it's a trip in itself!
Thus far that is all I have connected with iPhone4 and iPad2 - they should then pair...all the best...
Apparently, if you do not have tethering or personal HotSpot, you cannot use your iPhone as a a remote with Keynote. This TOTALLY *****, since I need the Keynote remote to be able to see my presenter notes (where I enter classroom notes while my professor speaks. There is NO OTHER WAY to see both the slides AND the presenter notes at the same time.
Come on Apple, fix this already!!!
Hello MzRoz and others: Allthoug iPhone and iPad will not connect using Bluetooth, KEYNOTE REMOTE WILL!
You can run around with your iPad and view slide and presenter notes, and have your iPhone connected to the projector, or vice versa. Very impressive.
Bluetooth connection is disabled by purpose from Apple's side, and permitted just between Keynote and Keynote Remote.
Hi Lary Kirchenbauer,
Can you please share the link to the article that talks about pairing iPhone and iPad? Thanks..

In a slightly different vein I'm trying to pair (bluetooth) an iPad3 with cordless headphone (jogger) The iPad searches but doesn't seem to find anything including my iPhone4. useful on a flight or poolside.
Interesting dilema pairing iPhone with iPad. I stumbled over this article on Beaming: PH3267.
The firststep has an associated note.
However, I cannot locate an article that shows how to.
Interesting and looking for replies.
It didn't work. This bug is 100% reproducable.
This really makes me feel like Apple don't know what thet are doing. I'm very disappointed! Buggy "forget this device" is a clear and absolute display of amateurism.
