iphone 4 personal hotspot not in options

i have recently updated my iphone 4 (o2-uk) to ios i thought that i would use the personal hotspot feature allot but when i went in to my settings to activate it the tab was not listed in the settings. can some please tell me what to do to resolve this issue

still I rebooted my iPhone 4 several times, even already installed the iOS 4.3.1 but the option to setup the personal hotspot still no showing.

You will need to check with telecom Carrier, which provide this service as part of mobile plan service.

I have the same problem too. I already rebooted, but it didn't appear. What is the possible solution?

Same for me, it's not under Settings, and not under General/Network/. I've hard-rebooted.

I use pay-as-you-go on O2. Surely it can't depend upon which tarrif you have, whether this button shows or not?

I believe it does matter.

Does your carrier support the iPhone's wi-fi hotspot feature which requires a tethering plan and if so, do you have a tethering plan with your carter for your iPhone?

If no to any of these questions, you don't need it and couldn't use it if it were available.

If yes to all questions, that is a different story.

I believe they support it, but I don't have it yet.

I called them up, but the guy "didn't know nuffink" and said I'd have to go to one of their shops, so I guess I will have to.
(O2 also have some tarrif and perhaps technical changed right around today, that may be relevant.)

Don't know whether it is the same over there, but I use a New Zealand network on prepay that doesn't have seperate charges for tethering. After updating to 4.3.1 I lost the internet tethering and could not see the personal hotspot options at first. However in the Cellular Data screen there was a new option for entering a internet tethering APN. So I entered the same one as I have for Cellular Data, and straight away I could see the Personal Hotspot option under networks.

Well I got the way to activate it.

1st - Switch Cellular Data ON and Data Roaming ON and 3G to ON also
2nd -GO to Cellular Data Network and ensure your Cellular Data settings are correct
fill in all possible settings.
3rd - Fill in your Internet Tethering with the above Cellular Data settings.
4th - Once finished Click on the Network back button/tab at the top to go to previous screen.
5th- Switch Cellular Data OFF
6th - And switch Cellular Data ON again.Volia.. See something interesting there... yep, Personal Hotspot
