I hope that your experience from this is going to be better than mine. I exchanged the first battery I bought, but the second one is just as bad. However I don't wanna pay more shipping for new exchanges and since I just bought a MBP, I rest my case on this. 🙂
I just got the battery and its the same!!! Been testing it now for 3 load cycles and is exactly the same 5770 mAh design as the original battery and is lasting the same 5 hours or so like the original battery. Also it says the same manufacturer is "DP" in about this Mac so its the same.
First the new Macbooks use Lithium-polymer batters not standard lithium-ion, so watch out when buying new batteries.
Also Lithium-polymer batteries need to be worn in before you will get the full length, when I first got my macbook pro it lasted 2 hours, now it lasts 4-5.
It costs $59.99 with free standard shipping from China. This company has an ebay store with over 2,454 seperate sales with a 99.4% satisfied customer rating. They sell only laptop batteries for all different Apple and PC laptops so there not a scam store and selling junk with an almost perfect customer rating. The few negative feedbacks thay have had nothing to do with the quality of there batteries but just shipping issues or sending the wrong battery by mistake. But only 5 complaints out 2,445 sales is pretty dood in my book because no seller is perfect and were all human, we all make mistakes somtimes. The Ebay Seller link is below.

Lithium-ion polymer batteries, polymer lithium ion, or more commonly lithium polymer batteries (abbreviated Li-poly, Li-Pol, LiPo, LIP, PLI or LiP) are rechargeable batteries (secondary cell batteries). Normally batteries are composed of several identical secondary cells in parallel addition to increase the discharge current capability.
So lithium-ion batteries are really Lithium-ion polymer batteries but most people just say and use the name lithium-ion for short and this can be proven by the simple fact that the manfacturing process costs more for standard lithium-ion batteries and is less efficient then manufacturing lithium-ion polymer batteries. The batteries in all macbook pro's are all made in china and the chinese are not trying to waste more money just to produce lithium-ion batteries when they know the manufacting costs are less to porduce Lithium-ion polymer batteries so they can then sell these batteries cheaper.
make sure automatic graphics switching is ON in energy save preferences i have same model and leave on charger almost 24/7 as the special battery only charges the cells that need it and turns the charger off when full
my battery lasts about 6 hours when just surfing net
ok, yeah I juat have the 13 inch Macbook pro with the Core i5 2.3ghz so I only have Intel Graphics 3000 and that works pefecty unless yout a game freek . The way I look at it is If you want to play video games then get a god dam playstation or an Xbox
But with all the research Ive done it is pretty obvious most companies selling the new Lithium-ion polymer batteries for the new Macbook Pro just use the type of battery as Lithium-Ion and leave out the polymer part.
Im super annoyed with this thing, somebody please help me,
i just bought the new macbook pro 13 inch, and i have noticed that im getting about 1.5 hours of battery.
All my friends have macs, and they show me that their macbook has a much longer battery life, i have attempted to callibrate the battery, but i was told this wont do anything towards stopping battery drainage.
Is it true that the lithium ion batteries need to circulate for a period of time untill they start working? because this is just frustrating, please let me know if this is a problem with my macbook and if i need to return it to the store.
Ps. Im not doing anything strange and wierd, i make sure to have my brightness on halfway, bluetooth off and only safari running.
I think that's kinda true man. I bought my MBP 15 awhile ago and at the beginning, it frustrated me a bit as well because of the battery life. But as i used it over time, for some reason, the battery kept on getting stronger and stronger. Before I only had like 3 or 4 hours of usage, but now I have like straight 6, 7 hours. Pretty cool. But if you've read previous comments then you'd know that this is possible because of the gfxcardstatus. Get it, it's really helpful.
I can watch 4-4.5hrs of streaming 1080p video at FULL BRIGHTNESS on my 2011 Dell XPS 17.
The bottom is barely warm afterwards. It's not as thin and sexy as my old MBP 17 but it doesn't get so burning hot either.

1 1/2 hours is a far cry from 7.... that to me is tetering on the verge of fraud or false advertising. I have had MBP for over 15 years and this is the first unit to ever disappoint me with battery/charging issues. I run the same internet apps on the new one as I have on my old (2009) one and that gave me 2 hours of battery. The big difference is, that on the old one, I had extra batteries to add more usage time. I don't have that luxury now. Apple blew it with this one.
Hi urmm "Eww" lol.. You said How we use the machine affects the battery life which i agree on but you see, the thing is i was just EXPLORING the menu and settings on my new and very first macbook pro after fully charging it, no web, nothing fancy and the battery only lasted 3hours..It clearly states UP TO 7 HOURS, and 3 is a very far call from 7. I am disappointed, this is my first mac. what a rip off. Thinking of returning it and getting a good old PC
If your getting only 1 1/2 then there is obviously something wrong, most likely with your battery but Id take it to an Apple Store to be fixed If I were you! I have had my Macbook 5 hours whenever I use it on Battery shich is at leas using internet and aMSN, but playing Video Games will kill the battery faster. One option you have is to switch to Intel 3000 Graphics when you don't need the AMD Radeon HD 6770M. Just doing that If your not playing Video Games is necessary to save battery life and when yout playing video games plug into your system its a lot easier then killing your battery.
I contacted Apple Care today and spoke to a senior advisor. He said with the apps that I was using, I should be getting close to 7 hours of battery life. He told me to shut down the computer, then hold down the option, control, and shift keys and press and hold the power key for a few seconds then start up the computer and charge it. After it was fully charged, the battery life doubled to 3 hours. I am going to try it again in a few days if it doesn't increase more. I hope this helps others with the same problem.
