We're having the same storeagent crash when VPN is connected over WiFi. Apple, please fix the application bug.
Same problem here for the last month or so (maybe earlier, but that's when I started noticing it). If I have the Network Connect Juniper VPN client running, when I start App Store it crashes immediately. If I don't have the VPN client running and start App Store, the store works fine until I start the VPN client. It crashes as soon as the VPN client establishes a connection. I have reported details several times through crash reporter.
I also just reported it at that App Store link posted above.

Hi,
This has to be a bug. You can report that here.

I tried that. I got me an answer some someone who was only able to help with account/customer service issues. She wasn't able to take a bug report for the application itself. I gave up there. How do we report this and get it resolved?
+1
Extremely annoying when I'm trying to do work and download something off the Mac App Store at the same time..
None of the solutions so far suggested work for me.
Also:
I am not using anything Cisco or Juniper.
Every time I try to launch the App Store, it instantly crashes.
I get the following message:
Application Specific Information:
abort() called
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSImageCacheException', reason: 'Cannot lock focus on image <NSImage 0x101aa89d0 Size={0, 0} Reps=(
)>, because it is size zero.'
-- followed by a lot of gobbledegook I won't bother posting here.
I need a fix for this or I will never be able to download Lion.
Confirmed for me the problem is when I have my Cisco VPN client connected, the App Store crashes. If I disconnect, it loads fine. Using Cisco Systems VPN Client Version 4.9.01.0180.
Same thing here...still no fix available.
Here's what worked for me:
Reinstall the AppStore application.
Get it here:

And leave a "thank you" message if this solves your problem !

Just to verify Tom, your App Store crashed when starting a VPN client? I just tried downloading App Store from that link, then starting my VPN client and I got the same crash. I'm concerned this thread is becoming a general "App Store crashes" thread. Maybe we should limit it to discussion of people with crashing ONLY with VPN clients or maybe people with similar stack traces in crash reporter:

no Kelly, my App Store was crashing immediately before I was even able to start it up. Reinstalling it from that link fixed the problem for me.
In the case of VPN, it occurs to me that maybe Apple designed the AppStore intentionally so that it could not be used by unauthorised people over a VPN?
Possible?
Hmm, Ok. App Store crahes for me only if the VPN client is running. If VPN client is running when App Store starts up, App Store crashes immediately. If App Store is running first, App Store crashes as soon as the VPN client has established a connection to the other end.
I'm not quite sure what you mean "so that it could not be used by unauthorised people over a VPN", but I doubt Apple designed their application to crash. Thinking about this a bit and looking at the stack trace, my best guess is that when the VPN client connects and it adds a fake network device (jnc0 or jnc1 in the case of Juniper Network Connect), the OS sends reload event to all applications, App Store maybe doesn't handle that event correctly.
It doesn't make sense to me that this should be something that is prevented. When my VPN client is up, The only traffic going over the fake jnc0 VPN connection is traffic destined for my companies computers. My computer sends all other internet traffic (web, mail, ssh, whatever) normally over the real wifi interface out through my ISP.
I feel like I've got a solid repro case, a consistent stack trace, and a reasonable guess at what is going wrong. How do I get this reported so that it has a chance of being looked at by an actual development team? As I said in a previous post, following the URL posted earlier in this thread got me to someone roughtly like customer service for Mac App Store and iTunes App Store, they made it clear they couldn't handle this issue.
Well, it seems the update to 10.6.8 fixed the problem. I can now run my Juniper VPN and the Mac App Store without issue.
Same here. 10.6.8 fixed my forticlientssl vpn problem. I'm now using Mac App Store.
10.6.8 has also fixed the issue with Cisco's VPN client. I can now use the app store with the VPN client running.
Fixed for me too. Both cases (start App Store with VPN already up and bring up VPN while App Store is running) are fixed.
