file too big when I try to upload

I am trying to upload a resume and it keeps telling me that the file is too big. There is no way. It is only two pages. No pictures. What the heck? The "resize the file" option is grayed out. Help!!

Uploading to the internet on the company's website...is that what you mean? I think it uses something called Taleo

When I try to upload it on Taleo, it says that the file is too big and that it exceeds 100000 bytes.

I am so sorry to sound like an idiot, but how do you tell how big the file is? It's just a two page document and I don't see where it says the exact size.

Go to Finder to where you saved the file, probably in your Documents folder.

The size will be visible to the right in list view or click on it:

+Menu > File > Info (command i)+

100,000 bytes is actually quite small. Even 1 Mb is not very large these days.

If it is only text, have you tried saving it as a Word .doc, .rtf or .pdf file all of which are usually smaller.

Are you sure Taleo actually want a .pages file?
