Desktop picture constantly in Zoom

This is a very strange thing..and a recent thing. I use photographs as my desktop and suddenly they are huge....as though they're in zoom. I checked the resolution and it isn't that. I've used these same photos before so I know something is different. It must be a setting someplace but I can't find it. Clicking on zoom doesn't change it. Does anyone know what this is?

Hi Janice,

I'm experiencing the same problem you are with your desktop picture. When I go into prefs/Desktop&ScreenSave and select it, the image is blown way up. In the Desktop prefs, I'm not seeing the "Fill screen - Fit to screen - Stretch to fill screen - ect..." layout selection menu when I select my jpeg file. I think this means that the computer thinks that the image is an authentic apple image but it is not.

Has anyone been able to shed some light on this issue?

I had the same problem after a time machine restore into a new replacement MBP. "Fit to screeen/Fill Screen" toggle disappeared when trying to use my own custom desktop pictures. Issue was resolved after I copied HD->Library->Desktop Pictures->(my custom photo directory) and moved it into the HD->users->(my user name)->pictures

I then deleted the custom photo directory from the desktop/screensaver system preferences location (on the scrollbar to the left, below all the default desktop pics), and deleted the actual custom photo folder from the first location above.

Finally, I added the new custom photo directory to the same left sidebar, which was now located in my username->pictures directory.

I'm assuming that my MBP thought that my custom pics were apple defaults because of the location of the folder. When I moved the folder I got the "fit to screen" options back.

Hope this helps!
