In iPhoto (11? which is really 9? But 9 is 8??)
When I try to share a picture using the email option, I cannot get what I enter in the To filed to stay put. Right after I enter an address, or select one from the list that pops up as I begin typing a name - then move my curser to the subject field or anywhere, the name disappears.
I tried entering the subject first, then entering the recipient email address manually, then clicking directly on Send. But again, the name goes away but a blue progess bar shows up indicating it is sending. After 4-5 minutes or so, I get an error message saying my resipient didn't receive my email.
I am using my mobile me account to do this. I even tried sending to myself at another email address. Same thing.
Any help please.

I had this problem and it definitely seems to be connected to issues with the Contacts (Address Book) application. I was having this problem trying to email one contact, noticed I had a screwy duplicate card containing the problematic address, deleted that which solved my problem. If you can't find anything I suggest running Contacts -> Card -> Look for Duplicates until it doesn't find anything and then retrying in iPhoto.

I know it doesn't help but I have exactly the same problem. OS 10.7.5 (No upgrade available for Mac Pro 2006 but I have too much invested in this machine to change now, 12 G RAM and 6TB disk and an SSD and 8 procs). iPhoto 9.4.3. I'll try the Address Book approach I guess but come on Apple.

I gave up and I'm using email to send photos. A bit of a drag but usually Apple makes great UIs. They are starting to look like Microsoft with these features that stop working. Ah well. I decided to go Android with my phone and skip the iPhone craze. A great phone and much lower cost of ownership.

I miss the way Steve would come up with these really amazing and surprising products. Despite everything I think there are always products that can blow people away with their innovation. I too miss Steve Jobs.

OS 10.7.5 ...... ( I'll try the Address Book approach I guess but come on Apple.

You're running a system that is 4 years old and is 3 versions behind. Don't expect any updates from Apple as they've stopped supporting it.

As has been posted previously in this topic the best solution is to use Mail as the email client for iPhoto.

It's more than 4 years old I believe and it's not upgradeable because of the firmware on the board. I hope to keep it at least another 5 years, it performs really well. As far as the apps go they are recent versions. If I don't figure out how to get the iPhoto to work I'll live with email. No sense spending a bunch more money on a new Mac. I still get updates but not for the OS of course, just for the apps. I love the old Mac Pro. A new Mac Pro is out of the question unless someone else pays for it.

I still think email and iPhoto should work together seamlessly but hey, no biggee.
