iPad WiFi Speed Slow with UBEE DOCSIS 3.0 Modem

Anyone have this issue with their iPad? My internet company switched my modem today to an UBEE DOCSIS 3.0 and ever since then, my iPad speeds are barely hitting 9 upload (normally it's 15+ upload). I have a Linksys WRT54G router, and I'm not sure what the issue is and why it's affecting the WiFi. I've rebooted my iPad, etc, and it's not helped. The rest of my equipments (computer, XBOX, etc.) are fine with the wireless speeds, but not the iPad.

Anyone know of compatibility issues with Ubee/Linksys/iPad. I've Googled this with no luck.

Thanks.

Hi Engineer from Ubee!

I, too, am experiencing issues with the combination of iPad and Ubee modem.

My modem is as follows, supplied by Ziggo in Holland:

Hardware Version3.9.2
Software Version9.9.2006
Cable Modem Serial NumberEVW320B00043772
CM certificateInstalled

My other equipment works fine (iMac, MacMini, iPhone and Dell laptop.)

It seems that the iPad can have Internet access OK but then, even during a download, it just stops.

I have used various Speedtest utilities and get the stated 10Mbps download on all my other devices but the iPad varies incredibly.

I tried reducing the modem power output to 75% and that seemed to work for a while.

This morning again during a download, it just stopped. I logged in to the modem and noticed that I had an error in the Wireless/Access section for the iPad. It could not resolve the Host name for the iPad.

I powered down the modem and things are normal again:

MAC Address Age(s) RSSI(dBm) IP Addr Host Name ModeSpeed (kbps)
00:24:36:AF:F3:050-58192.168.178.13n117000
C8:BC:C8:85:A4:1E0-72192.168.178.11JCs-iPadn6500

I read in another forum that you should change the frequency (currently 2.4GHz) and channel (currently 6).

Any ideas to help?

I too am experiencing some problems with my modem (ubee evw3200).

For some reason my iPad and iPhone4 won't go any faster than 15-20 Mbps, where my laptop gets to 30Mbps over Wifi (2,4GHz wifi-N). I use the build in wifi connection in the modem.

The speed gets a bit better when switching to 5GHz wifi-N, but most of my equipment doesn't support this.

I also have a Apple Airport Express. When I hook it up to the modem (LAN 1 port of modem to WAN port of Airport Express), the wifi speed of the AE is not great. No, I'm not using NAT 2 times (twice the use of DHCP), the AE act as a bridge.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
