iPhone 3GS Battery Calibration and Maintenance

Hi, can someone here please point me to a TSB or something, anything, on how to properly calibrate my iPhone 3GS battery? Also, the best method for maintaining its life, i.e. full drain and charge monthly, or whatever it may be.

Thanks you.

Thanks very much, I have read this already.

There are some good tips on preserving your battery but I guess I was looking for something more technical. Like an official release on how to calibrate battery to battery source reading.

I guess I'll just assume my battery is pretty accurate.

I basically just let it completely drain until it shut itself down, left it untouched, unplugged, and drained overnight. Then, in the morning, charged it up fully.

Sound about right for a proper battery set up?

The only way to recalibrate your battery meter is to follow the instructions in that article: once a month let your battery completely drain until the phone turns off, then fully charge it. Do not do this anymore than once a month at most. Lithium batteries do not like to be fully discharged often, they prefer to be kept fully charged & will last longer if kept that way:

Doesn't the iPhone/iPod/iPad still reserve a small charge on the battery? When it reaches like 0% or 1%, it shuts off, but when holding the power button, you see a notification from the device telling you to charge it?

My iPhone is been through 223 Charge Cycles and is still on a 1136 Capacity. Still good. That's like 94% or 95% from the Battery health? Cause monthly, I drain it like what Lithium batteries are suppose to be maintained.

If I'm not mistaken, after 400 cycles, the battery should keep up 80% of its capacity if properly maintained?
