Airport Extreme + Bluetooth card not working

Hi everybody,

Did a search for this info, but it looks like I'm posting a new one for the Learned...

I have a dual-core 2.0GHz G5 (late 2005) that didn't come with AirPort Extreme + Bluetooth. Shortly after I acquired it, a purchased the "runway card" and AirPort/Bluetooth module and installed it. Only the Bluetooth worked, so I assumed I got a bad card but due to circumstances I could not return the card. The G5 sat in my basement for the past year hooked up to ethernet for use as a casual machine.

Now I want to make it my primary workstation, so Airport is a must. I again purchased another Runway card and Airport/Bluetooth module, but I still only get Bluetooth to work. The machine reports "No Airport card installed."

What am I missing here?

Thanks in advance!
GG

My same g5, late model. has the airport extreme 2 EDR from factory.

Was working great for about 5 years. Then suddenly no airport hardware detected.

I think I caused the problem. I have a USB hub that is also a card reader and bluetooth. I plugged that in the other day. Next thing you know, I have no bluetooth, no airport.

I rebooted, and now bluetooth works, but no airport hardware detected by internet connect. I'm using 10.4.

I've attempted booting with cmd, option, p, r that clears the NVRAM, but still bluetooth and no airport.

I've pulled the batter, that works, my clock goes back in time, but still the problem.

I think the hardware has a bug and it became toast when my USB hub was inserted.

Anyone got a dead g5 with a good EDR version of the airport extreme. I have an airport extreme standard card in a dead g5 ppc. I could pull that out, but I'm told it will not work in my late model g5.

I know this is not a software install. I have old hard drives that I've cloned with CCC. Those are from when 10.4 was freshly installed. So I know this card was not killed by an OSX update.

I am so bummed out. This machine really needs to be wireless.
