iPad 2 UK shipping times?

Just had my White 32Gb iPad 2 and Orange Smart Cover delivered by DHL from PCWorld. Ordered on Saturday, posted Monday, arrived today. 🙂

Just to negatively clarify something. I also had the delivery date of the 25th April. That's 4.5 weeks. Not 3.5.

Uncool.

...plus my 10 days shipping. It'll be 4.5 weeks before we get it assuming they don't deliver on Bank Holiday Monday.

I live in Cyprus so I can't buy it from the apple store... I'm going to have to wait for my cousin to send it to me... I think it will probably ship a week sooner. READ THIS (it’s a comment I found on Product reviews) ------> I'm from the US and I ordered my iPad at 7:30 am on March 11 (launch day here). It gave me a shipping date of April 1, however, I received confirmation from Apple yesterday, March 24, that my product had shipped. This was obviously surprising news. So for you UK customers, although April 25th is a ways off, I wouldn't be too worried. My guess is that they'll ship your iPads sooner than that date (maybe 2 weeks from now rather than 4). There's always hope 🙂

It seems too far off really. My guess is that they're overestimating the dates. If I remember correctly, when the iPhone 4 Bumpers came out last year my shipping date was around a month (Similar to this case) and it got dispatched in five days.

Here's hoping that the same happens again and it should be shipping maybe this weekend or next weekend.
(I REALLY want it! :P)

My Order Status has changed again, a bit...

whereas previously it said that items would be shipped together when all available, & Shipping Method was 'Standard', it now says that items will be shipped 'Separately as they become available' & the Shipping Method is now "Fast Ship (EMEA)"....

Date-wise however, at the moment at least, the only change is on the O2 SIM, which is understandable, coming from within UK... ;-}

I ordered mine the second they became available....12-36 am on the 25th....email sent at 05.36 confirming another delivery by 27th April....not a happy man! I have never been part of an apple launch event, but was so dissapointed by the extended delivery time , i headed off to Meadowhall to join the queue at 1pm. At 3 they closed the store and started working their way down the queue giving us all order cards for our purchase. We were all exceptionally well looked after, fed and watered, countless staff on hand chatting to us all in the queue, which is what apple wanted all along! Massive queues......entertaining the troups, and fantastic publicity to make the iPad 2 even more desirable. Ive no complaints about the experience, and got what i wanted, but understand why internet purchases arent what apple wants.....its just not sexy enough! Of course i cancelled my online order, and for the next time.....will defo queue again!

I managed to secure one yesterday and it was delivered today. Comet at Birstall near Leeds said they have a few black and white 16GB wifi models in their Castleford depot so I bought a black one. Unfortunately 'my' white 64GB 3G is going to have to wait until late April:(.. Before anyone asks - no, I'm not going to put it on fleabay to make some money. It's for my mum for Mothers Day. She'll be staggered at Facetime. BTW, PC World at Birstall were getting deliveries yesterday.

I ordered a 32GB online with engraving on the day of release. Delivery estimates were the same as everyone else (dispatch 15th and delivery on the 26th). It has since too said that it has been engraved and I cannot edit the engraving. I find it hard to believe Apple would wait another 12 days from now to post it??? And it would then take another 11 days for it to arrive.

Apple will always aim succeed expectation rather than break it. I would of thought it will be here within the week! (fingers crossed anyway)

My shipping method is "Merge in Transit GB"
I'm not sure what it means but looking at past discussions it's supposed to add time on to your delivery. Really unhappy that I ordered it on the 26th (I know it's a bit late)and it will arrive on the 5th May? That's 41 days. What the ****, seeing people ordering now and getting the same OR BETTER delivery as me?
Something is messed up. Next time Apple need to know their demand.

Keep us posted on how soon the engraved one is shipped. I'd be concerned if they mark them "engraved" and take their time as that restricts the ability to cancel the order if I find one in the shops in the meantime.

if you see my earlier post, mine was originally scheduled to all ship together when all available, but the status has since changed to ship individually as available.... & from Standard to Fast..
so I suspect your status could change too, at some point.

Mine says about a month, i did however get a call from an apple person saying that they saw i tried to order and failed on launch night (i decided to order a few days later instead) and that because of this issue he would bump my order to a priority one ahead of most/all others in line for one!

i asked how long it would be and he said instead of saying it will take 3-4 weeks it will now take more like 2-3 Which is nice.

However upon checking my order it still states something like a month or so.

So yeah.. im very confused

Ok, so I have just looked at my Order Status and it now says - "Items will be shipped separately as they become available."

I ordered mine Mar 25, 2011 at 06:00 AM GMT.

So there is hope by this at least, patience I think and allot of us may be surprised by Apple yet.
