Mac App Store running slow

During the last few days app store has started running really slow. It takes too long to open or change between Featured Top Charts etc and during the change its on " Not Responding " state.Also im trying to update a game application ( Touch Fly) . Im asked my apple ID and pass , enter them correctly but then nothing happens. Dont know if thats an issue of app store or the application for sure though.

MB Pro 13" @009, Mac OS X (10.6.7), 2.53GHZ

I have a brand new 27' iMac iCore7 with 16GB RAM. The machine is super fast at all things accept the Mac App Store. The store runs painfully slow, where I dont have the patience to comfortably browse. The speed of the mac App store should be on par with the speed of the iTunes store and it definately is not. What's weird is that the same access to the Mac App store on my iMac at the office (Mid 2007 iMac Model) is nice and speedy. What gives?

I figured out that disabling a feature in my antivirus (virusBarrier x6 spyware protection) the app store works correctly.
