iTunes with Motorola razr V3i

I can't get iTunes to recognize the Motorola razr V3i GSM. I've tried everything I've read on here and other boards to no avail. I have the latest version of iTunes. I get no phone icon or a source list when I plug in the phone USB cord. Anyone else experience this and have a solution?

Thanks Dave. I've tried all but performing a master reset on the phone. I guess I'll do that next, which I hate to lose all on the phone doing that.

Dave, I tried the master reset, still iTunes will not recognize the phone. Any other ideas?

In case anyone else has the problem, the solution is getting an older version of iTunes like 4.9 works fine for me. The never versions didn't.
