Invitation alerts on Exchange

My iPad2 is set up to use my Exchange account for mail and calendar, and I have the invitation alerts turned on. I am getting some pretty strange invitation alert messages however. Today when I got back to my desk the iPad said I had 262,144 invitations! No, I am not really that popular. In reality, I had 2 new invitations. What's the deal? I've never noticed this behavior on my iPhone4 which is set up to use the same account.

i think you are literally 2 steps behind me 🙂

Apple Developer Bug Reporting shouldve sent you an email with Bug ID#.

there should be an attached file "ExchangeDiagnosticsProfile.mobileconfig"

basically, open the the attachment THROUGH the ipad Mail app.

you can always forward it to an email associated to the ipad mail app.

that's what i did.

NOW.

i've been running this diag profile on the ipad, and and trying to get the log from the device...

i don't have

Windows 7 and Vista: C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\<device-name>\DiagnosticLogs\

anyone have any other idea?

To Raymond an all others...

Go to radar.apple.com

Register as a developer (even if you aren't) - 1 min

File a bug report (be detailed, rant) - 2 min

Submit and wait - 1 day

Get a message with an attachment

Click on that attachment from a mail account that you have ON THE IPAD - this is key... iOS will recognize the file type and do it's stuff. - 1 min

Reboot (it'll ask you) - 2 min

You should be all set.

Hi,

I also have a user with this problem. He is on Exchange2010, Outlook 2010,iPad2, 4.3.3.

Has been getting Millions of Invites displayed.

I have tried removing and re-adding the email, Changing theprofile installed on the device (We use McAfee EEM console to control thedevices)

I tied as someone mentioned, removing everything in the SyncProblems folder in outlook. And that did reduce the number from over a billionto just over 500 million.

Also, someone mentioned that all the numbers can be dividedby 1024. The latest figure from this iPad was 536,873,088. This divided by 1024is 524290.125. Therefore 1024 does not go into all these random invite numbers.

I am guessing that as a few have said. iOS5 will fix thisone….
