Help please! Resume isn't going from .pages to .doc

My resume is exactly how I'd like it to look in .pages format but I've tried EVERYTHING to change it to a .doc document because a lot of employers are asking for resumes and cover letters in a word (.doc) format ONLY. Of course I can save it as a pdf but that is not agreeable to some of them. I have the Microsoft Office for MAC software and I've tried exporting it...copy paste...even rebuilding it from scratch and every time I save it and email it to myself as a .doc document it comes out looking NOTHING like what I see when I am in Word working on it. The font is different, spacing is off, etc....HELP!! Is there any way whatsoever to make my resume from pages look exactly the same when it is a .doc document?

M,

It's possible that your Pages design is simply impossible to reproduce in Word because of some feature in Pages that doesn't exist in Word. If that's the case, you would be better off doing the whole thing in Word from start to finish, sad to say. It's a good thing that you have Office for Mac available. When you are dealing with businesses, whether they are clients or prospective employers, you have to bend to their wills. This may mean using Pages for your internal work and Office or one of its clones for times when only Word is accepted. That's part of the cost of doing business.
