Micron C400/Crucial m4 not working with SATA 3
I have tried SMC reset, PRAM reset, turning off SMS and hd sleep, and nothing has resolved the issue.
Apple, please fix this.

I have the same problem.
Bought Crucial C400 512Gb from Superbiiz and although I get great performance, I really hate the spinning beachballs, I get for 20-30 sec up to 2-5 times per hour.
About to replace cable thru Apple Service center here in Estonia on Monday - lets see, if that truly is the problem.
I have the same problem. did you get it fix? tomorrow i will go to the service center and hopefully they have the solution.
Same here.
Ordered 2 macbook pro 17" 2011 and 2 crucial M4s. Problems starting and running with both. Same computer and a 512 GB apple SSD has no problems. Changed cables as well as shielded it as per other posts on the net - did not work.
Apple needs to address this asap.
@spetzNAZ - When did you buy your units? Also, where did you buy them?
A lot of people are having issues with Crucial and Intel SSDs on the new 2011 MBPs. I bought my MBP 3 weeks ago, installed a OCZ Vertex 3 and have had no problems so far. Then again, some people that have early production 2011 models have. Apple may have silently modified the hardware recently.
did any of you try enabling Trim Support? And setting Hibernatemode=0?
Done both. Do not work.
I emailed OCZ support about TRIM and they told me there is no need to enable it. The Vertex 3 has a SandForce controller (with garbage collection) that takes care of the drive. I believe Crucial uses the same controller. Also, I did set hibernate to 0.
Controller for Crucial C400 and C300 is Marvell . Firmware is Crucials..

Maybe that's a compatibility issue then. I notice on Crucial's website that they no longer recommend any of their SSDs for MBP 2011 models. All they list is RAM.
Today Crucial's Website says:
Guaranteed-compatible upgrades for your Apple MacBook Pro 2.3GHz Intel Core i7 (17-inch DDR3) Early-2011
So were the issues fixed or should I stay away from a 512 or 256 Crucial SSD - M4?
Hé guys, certainly you know the difference between "garbage collection" and Trim?!
set hibernatemode to 0 and enable Trim on Crucial (I am not entirely sure about Vertex, but I cannot check, I am away now), just do it.
Just like to say that I am running a 2011 13 inch MBP 2.7GHz with Lion which I have replaced the standard HD with a 512 SSD M4 from Crucial It ran under both Firmware 2 and now I have just updated it to FW 9 - seem to be much faster even though TRIM is not active - but then Crucial have something else called Garbage Collection which sorts out the drive anyway Sugest you try new Firmeware for SSD just available yesterday from
