Error 2096

i try to open itunes and it wont open says quicktime is needed and to re install i tunes i have down it about 3 times and nothing have re installed quicktime and again nothing i have also made sure all components are deleted and re installed and still nothing however i did create a new user account and i tunes seems to run in that account just not mine i have been battling with this for about a week now and need some serious help ive tried EVERYTHING !User uploaded file

With a 2096, we first try to make sure that neither iTunes nor the QuickTime Player are running in compatibility mode.

Start with the following document:

[Error -2096 message when opening QuickTime for Windows in Compatibility Mode|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1875]

But if none of the boxes are checked in there, check on the iTunes compatibility mode tab:

[iTunes for Windows: How to turn off Compatibility Mode|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1489]

(Also make sure that none of the boxes are checked in the iTunes compatibility mode tab, not just the Compatibility mode checkbox.)
