custom text box shapes and arranging text as graphics along lines?

Question

custom text box shapes and arranging text as graphics along lines?

I think that neither is possible in Pages, or not easily anyway?

If it's not possible, what might be a good freeware program, or a good purchase? Is it possible in Word or Acrobat?

You can put text into a shape, and an edited shape:

You can't warp the line of the text in iWork. For that use Art Text 2 (App Store) or similar.

In Word, I believe it's called "Word Art". My very old copy of Word, no longer used, came with that feature. Not sure it's there in newer versions.

Acrobat does nothing but some editing of pdf files.

lllustrator, Indesign, and most drawing programs can do text on line and Pages will accept the resultant pdf files.

Insert Shape. Double click the shape to get to the text layer. Type.

To change the outline of the Shape, Format > Shape > Make Editable.

To clear the color from inside the Shape, edit the Fill Color. Set to none.

See the User Guide for instructions on editing the shape's outline.
