iBook G4 Keys Not Working

Hi everyone -
I just bought an iBook G4 on eBay. It showed up at my house today, looked in good condition. I tried it out and found that several keys don't work when pressed. Of these, the most important are the space bar, the tab key, the caps lock key, and the delete key. There are a few others, like the plus/minus key, brackets keys, quotes/comma key, etc. Is this difficult to repair? The seller guaranteed that the computer would arrive with everything working 100% or they would send a replacement. I have already contacted them and await their reply. But, if I get stiffed on this deal, I want to know if this is a repairable problem.

Thanks

I found new ones for around $100, and some used (but SAY they work fine...) for $25 on eBay. The seller said he would send me a new keyboard, but first he had to imply that I did something to ruin it. He asked if I had cleaned it with something not approved for electronics; or if I had spilled something on it. If he will send me a keyboard that works, I'll be happy. It seems to be a nice little computer. I think my son will be happy with it! Thanks for your advice!

That is good news. Installation is not very difficult. You can go to ifixit.com and select the guide for your computer. Post back with questions, if any.

Hope everything works out well for you, and, yes, your son should enjoy it.

Thanks for leaving feedback in Apple Discussions by marking the "solved" post.
