Hi Shan,
I am having the same problem and don't quite understand your solution. Would you mind being a bit more specific with what you mean by 'settings/mail,contact,calendars' and 'under accounts'?
I am not a Mac guy and am fixing this issue for my father and couldn't find those headings anywhere (settings called preferences, etc.)
I was trying to fix on his Macbook, but could also fix via his iPhone so if you can, let me know the easiest way.
Thanks very much,
BT
It's actually not an apple problem, it's an exchange account problem. If you want to keep you outlook/exchange contacts you;ll need to go to your exchange account via, web browser, or if you have a windows computer, look for a folder called "suggested contacts" Delete that entire folder, or disable it in "Options" "contacts" in outlook.
me too! i keep deleting the "no names" from all 3 databases! its driving me insane! every time the sync occurs, a new "NO NAME" is added. anyone solve this yet?
My Mac was prompting me to add 47,000 new contacts so I talked with Apple about the problem. They said the engineering team was already looking into the problem and I had a case number already. I guess I had reached a limit on their servers. Seems strange the would cut off access to my contacts on me.com and start a ticket without contacting me. The ticket was started on the 16th. I was told it should be fixed within a week. Still waiting...
Having the same problem - latest synch with iPhone added 163,000 "No Name" contacts, severely slowing down Address Book. Help!
OS X 10.6.6 MacBook Air, only one month old
Same problem here. Over 500,000 new contacts added and unable to synch with iphone...
Any resolution to this problem? My Address Book and iPhone have been doing this periodically for months. I do a clean up and the multiples come back, many with "No Name"
I am supposed to have approx. 800 contacts. At 10:00 am there were 2,237 and an hour later there were 2,550!!!
What's going on?
I was able to get the problem fixed by working with Apple senior engineers for three weeks. It was a problem on their servers though they wouldn't tell me any details.
were you ever able to get this resovled? I am having the same issue with close to 100,000 no name enteries. SInce I've also upgraded to the new OS Lion, I can't even restore from my time capsule (it won't allow me to!).
Any help would be very appreciated.
I got it solved by working with Apple engineers. It was a problem on their end.
but if my technical service contract has expired, then they're going to want to charge me, aren't they?
I don't think so for MobileMe. It's not an issue with your hardware/software.
