They are fragile, you have to be careful. Having a case is also strongly recommended. I have had IOS devices for 3 years and never dropped one.
So is it better to go to the local apple store, or send it to apple first and see if they will fix it..?
my note may not be useful here but i lik to share onething. when i met wit bike accident i kept my ipod touch in my pant pocket inside a leather case, during tat my thigh was broken into pieces nothing happened to my ipod. still my ipod working as a new one.

Hi I want to know if Apple can either replace or fix my iPod touch (4th gen)
Whenever im charging my ipod it gets hot near the camera both back and front.
This also happens when i use the camera or listen to music.
When i had it in my pocket it burnt my thigh a little.
When this happens sometimes itll just shut off. I bought it on November last year.
Im still under warranty. Would it be better to go the Apple store or over phone and see what they can do?
I need to know before my warranty runs out.
I would take it in, if it's determined to be defective they will replace
I dropped my ipod (4th gen)and the screen cracked but it worked after that for months then it was charging and it just turned off. now it wont turn on. where can i go to fix it.
If you dropped your ipod and cracked the screen apple does not cover this as it voids your warranty, try these guys i've used them many times as i bought broken ipod touches and send them to these guys to fix the broken screens they are fast and cheaper then others. igadgetresq.com
I bought a ipod nano 6g a few months ago. I dropped it and the screen got cracks all over it. It still works, so maybe Apple could refurbish it. Do you think they would replace it for free?
Doubt it. They will replace it for a fee.
How much do you think it will cost?
same here
😟😠
Ok lets just get this clear, yes if you buy and iPod touch 4th Gen and your screen breaks they will replace for the first time on the house within the year warrenty, by replace its a refurbished model, NOT NEW.
This happened to my iPod touch and my friend who works at the apple, in the Fl Mall let me know, they have you sign on a iPod for the replacement, then that goes into your file of warrenty, just in case it happens again, and will cause there retina display is good scratch proof, but dense so that any lilttle fall will give it the slightest crack, mine has cracked three different times over nothing.
Ok now any aother time after that, if you make an appointment they will read the S# and find out what has gone on with the iPod, from there it is 100 BUCKs for a replacement of just, the outer shell, pretty much like a gut swap.
Its a smart way of them making money, they will deny that they cannot do a gut swap on iPod touches, but its all over youtube, with a heating gun (cheap), and surgical knife, you can open the iPod, then it is as simple as disconnecting two ports, then pow you got a out shell.
Long, and short, just be very careful with your Itouch there very dense, but great devices.
Hope this helps everyone.
In some cases users have received one for free but you cannot by any means guarantee this and the warranty does not cover damage such as this. Also, if you attempt to service it yourself or by unauthorized 3rd party then this will void the warranty.
