iTunes has stopped working on Windows 7

Every time I open iTunes it would always say "iTunes has stopped working". I have been uninstalling and reinstalling over and over. I even tried using Revo Uninstaller and did a full uninstall. Here's the details from the crash:

I need an answer please.
I just bought my iPod Nano so I still need to put songs in it. For now it's just useless. 😟

iTunes.dll suggests a user account specific issue, but these things aren't set in stone.

I'd try the troubleshooting procedures outlined in the following document (checking first to see if it's a user-specific or systemwide error):

Let's check on another few (rarer) possibilities, just in case.

Quit itunes and log back into your usual user account.

In Computer, open Local Disk C:\ or whichever drive you have your program files installed on.
If you have a 32-bit Windows 7, open the "Program files" folder.
If you have a 64-bit Windows 7, open the "Program files (x86)" folder.
Open the iTunes folder.

Right-click on the iTunes.exe file and select "Run as administrator".

Does she launch then, or do you get the same error as usual?

I've tried everything. Unistalling/Installing, repairing, etc. I've read every article I could find on the problem. Just getting more and more frustrated.

I uninstalled iTunes and re-installed it. No luck.

Hi all. I moved from an oldl XP to a new Windows 7 computer and could not get iTunes to work. Kept getting the "iTunes has stopped working" error within 5 seconds of launching iTunes. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, clean booting, turning off anti-virus software and installing in a particular sequence -- nothing worked

FOUND A SOLUTION -- at least it worked for me.

1. When booting up my computer, pressed Fn-8 and selected SAFE MODE with network connections

2. Launched iTunes (I had installed it already). Then plugged in iPad and waited for it to do any sync-ing, etc..

3. Ran STORE > AUTHORIZE THIS COMPUTER from iTunes. Entered my Apple ID. Waited for it to finish sync-ing, backup up, etc.

4. Exited iTunes

5. Rebooted in normal WIndows 7 mode. iTunes now works fine. Tested downloading new things to it

HOPE THIS HELPS!

I am having the same problem also. Itunes was working fine until it asked me to update Itunes which I did and now It isn't working. I have too uninstalled and reinstalled, deleted temp files and such. Now I have created a new user account and it works in that account on this computer, but that doesn't help me. I work in this account. Recommendations please? Evidently new update of Itunes is causing problems.

I found another solution since the one stated here didn't work for me.

Go to C:\Users\"YourName"\AppData\Local\Apple Computer. (If you don't see the AppData folder you must check the option to "Show Hidden Folders and Files" in Windows Explorer)

You will see the iTunes folder. Rename the folder to iTunes.old.

Then start iTunes.

iTunes runs just fine when I logged on another user in Windows 7 so I figured it must be something in my profile.
