Double Clicking using a keyboard
Is there any way to double click on a Macbook Pro using the keyboard instead of using a trackpad or mouse?

I know this is an old thread, but just wanted to add to it - found this shortcut online tonight while searching this very issue. From this very useful article: http://www.macworld.com/article/1167762/ten_stellar_keyboard_shortcuts.html - "Select a file and press Command-down-arrow and the file will open with its default application".
Magic.
My thumb has had it with this trackpad. Hopefully this will help.
I might be extremely late for this, but Command + O, opens whatever item you have selected on screen (movie, song, file, etc.), so it sort of works like a double click. Hope this helps someone else in the future. Cheers!

Thank you both. I called Apple and they said the same thing. I bought some very cool software, Keyboard Maestro that lets you create macros. F1 is now a double click 🙂
