Final Cut Pro X

I guess that as Apple has told the world about FCP 10 then (basic) questions can be asked....

1) Do you still need to (officially) transcode into Quicktime? or will it handle say DVCPro HD natively?
2) Is there upgrade pricing or does everyone pay $299 regardless
3) A video I saw had the presenter refer to FCP 10... if I'm using the latest which is 7 where did 8 & 9 go?
Cheers

Broadcast Professional: I'm not dead.
The Dead Collector: 'Ere, he says he's not dead.
Apple: Yes he is.
BP: I'm not.
TDC: He isn't.
Apple: Well, he will be soon, he's very ill.
BP: I'm getting better.
Apple: No you're not, you'll be stone dead in a moment.
TDC: Well, I can't take him like that. It's against regulations.
BP: I don't want to go on the cart.
Apple: Oh, don't be such a baby...

From the WSJ today:

Apple Inc. Chief Executive Steve Jobs envisions a new landscape in which personal computers no longer rule the digital world—but are just another device, like the company's hit smartphones and tablets.

"We're going to demote the PC and the Mac," Mr. Jobs said, speaking at the company's developer conference in June.

Very interesting, to say the least.

Wow... just dropped in to see how the new Final Cut X is doing... no updates in 3 months? Still on ver 0. I've not returned to bruise the rotten apple, nor to gloat, seriously...

I perused the FC X forum and found only Andy and Tom left answering rudimentary questions of novices trying to cut their version of the next Cohen theatrical on FC x. I found no traces of the old pro editors that use to frequent these halls, so sad.

So what do you guys think about FC x now? Do you still hold the same optimism as you did 3 months ago? Do you still think that FC x will be restored to a professional level application?

I honestly did drop in hoping that I would find something to be hopeful for. But I can's find anything... so sad.

Did you test FCPX? I did. FCPX it's a joke. Than I downloaded Abode Production Premium Trial and... it's big piece of pro soft. I read that many people changed to Adobe. Anyway cooperation AE and Premiere Pro, and of course Photoshop - I like it! Avid who? Avid is expensive and anyway you will need AE.

The funniest thing is, that Premiere Pro can open projects from Final Cut Pro, but Final Cut Pro X cannot. ***!!?!?!?!!

I have lost trust to apple. I hope they won't do the same with Logic Pro.

Is anybody unhappy with Adobe?
