Final Cut Pro X

I guess that as Apple has told the world about FCP 10 then (basic) questions can be asked....

1) Do you still need to (officially) transcode into Quicktime? or will it handle say DVCPro HD natively?
2) Is there upgrade pricing or does everyone pay $299 regardless
3) A video I saw had the presenter refer to FCP 10... if I'm using the latest which is 7 where did 8 & 9 go?
Cheers

yep. Dwnldng CS5.5 Prod. Prem. (upgrd) right now. Several reviewers say it plays real nice with current FCS apps. So many changes to FCPX though, I'm hoping it still plays nice. I for one am going to wait to see where FCPX and associated FCS apps are going, and see some actual, factual reviews before I invest any more $ in FC anything. I truly won't mind having both platforms if FCPX isn't a dumbdown, will also have to see where Apple is going with motion, compressor, etc...

Motion, Compressor, etc. are probably not available as separate apps (maybe rolled into FCPX):

Stop complaining about the product and your money you do not have already! I am in the same boat. If you want to play this game, put on your big boy pants and man up!

I am SO excited about this release and when I can afford it I will get it it. No one is forcing me to spend the money and I can use what I have in the meantime...

Get a life already and be glad we have people creating tools to make life easier, better and more pleasant.

Progress demands that when new stuff comes out you buy it, or not. No one is forcing you. Pages of whining about price and not having the money gets old. When I can afford the latest tools I will avail myself of them, but for now the FCP Studio 7 I have has handled the workload I have thrown at it. No one is forcing ANY of you whiners to buy anything. Progress happens, you jump in where you can and stop worrying about what's new.

That is how marketing guys get you suckers to always run out and buy stuff.

It is not the camera or the tools you use, it is the quality of the finished project. If you take longer and always produce priceless works of art, people will pay...

Hey! We never saw a Finder Desktop in the demo! We never saw an actual icon to launch FCP X with! And we never saw an actual Mac computer! All of that must be going away, and FCP 7 will never work as of the release of FCP X, and all our computers will blow up and die! Oh, wait, the 21st came and went. Nevermind...

Wait, you mean I have to PAY to get a copy of FCP X? Really? It won't be free? OMG! That bites!

I want my mommy!!!!!
