Some GM 2006 and newer have a pause button in the iPod onscreen menu. Auto play was messing with all audio except phone calls until I press ⏸.
No way to fix it
1. Enable Restrictions
2. Restrict Music and CarPlay.
Apple support has no answer for this other than "submit feedback". Deluge them with feedback! This ***** .... !!
I wish I knew this too but I can't figure out a way to do this.
I made a song that if you put it in your library (get it from iTunes Store or add it to library from Apple Music) will play silence instead. Check it out here: http://aaasilence.com/
Sadly, you don't understand AT ALL, that this is NOT a function of the phone, or the music app. The phone is simply responding to a command being sent by the head unit to begin playback.
Sadly, you think you know it all and clearly, you do not. If it's the car audio and not the phone then why doesn't any other phone besides iPhone have the issue??? I embrace solutions, not excuses.
Fine. Reject reality and substitute your own. I really don't care.
Reject reality?? The reality is this is an iPhone specific problem. Not any other phone.
It's already been explained. This thread is 6 years old already... move on.
Mine plays the same song that I first listened to when we got our car new. Over and over and over again. Day after day! No end in sight. I feel your frustration.
If the USB connection in my 2016 GMC Acadia is recognizing my iPhone 6s as an iPod, how do i get it to stop? Is there a way to update the usb port in the car?

Ask your dealer.
You gave me a brief moment of hope. But, no cigar. I found the page you referenced and it didnt stop the itunes autoplay. Next stop, an android phone.
Thanks though.
