JBL Creature 2 Speaker Help Needed

Hi, I received the a set of JBL Creature 2 Speakers for my PowerMac G5 yesterday and they work great except for one thing. On the right speaker, there are two buttons to adjust the volume, however when I try and use them it has no effect, the volume doesn't change at all. Is the speaker control being overridden by something else? Is the speaker volume control simply broken? Any suggesting would be helpful. Thanks.

Power Mac G5, Dual 2.0 GHZ, Rev.B Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Hi There

I just bought these speakers and have the same problem. The speakers are excellent but I can't adjust the volume. Although everyone else in my house can. Including my 3 year old daughter. When I touch the volume control the speaker fills with static. I know that sounds a little crazy but it's true.

If anyone has any suggestions I'd be very grateful.

I've already tried using a pen/pencil/rubber (eraser) and a glove.

I've discovered that I can use my foot to change the volume (no joke) but I'd rather find another way 🙂

I don't have a solution to your problems however I do have these speakers and have had no trouble with them whatsoever. The speaker volumn control isn't overridden by anything in the OS.
