DVD Player won't turn off subtitles

DVD Player won't turn off subtitles

I'm not able to turn off the subtitles for a movie that I am playing; specifically, the movie "Gallipoli." I've tried all the different settings I could find, in both DVD player and on the disc menu.

This is also happening with some compressed QT movies I've made (for my PSP). I don't know if it's a related problem but it sure is annoying.

Any help?

Oh never mind, I see you tested some other Quicktime movies. It sounds like a corrupt preference somewhere for Quicktime or the DVD Player. Try playing in another user.

It may be that in addition to subtitles, the films you are watching have closed captioning. Go to the Controls menu and turn them off if it gives you the option.

I too am having the same issue, with all the DVD's I attempt to play. It appears to be DVD Player's subtitles, when changing the subtitles on the DVD itself I get double subtitles. The subtitles option is unchecked within the prefrences menu.
