I have saved a number of Software Update packages (Install and keep package) on my laptop while using a fast internet service, and would like to move them to my mac mini and update them there as well (where I can only get ISDN and slow dial-up service). I can pull them out of library/packages to a folder on the desktop, but get a "cannot copy" message if I try to move them from the desktop to a mini drive or CD on the laptop. Any ideas why or what I am doing wrong, or how to correct this? Out of 10 updates, itunesx.pkg (sept.) was the only one that would allow itself to be moved/copied.

Have you checked the ownership privileges for these files? Select one and press and COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Ownership and Permissions section check to see if you have the correct permissions to use the files. If not, then change the permissions accordingly. Also check to be sure the files aren't locked (the checkbox is also in the Get Info window.)
How are you transferring to the other computer? Are the two computers networked? Are you transferring via Firewire? If you are networked do you have Sharing turned on?
Thanks for the info. I had checked the files and have permission on all of them. The checkboxes to lock are not checked. I am trying to move/copy them onto an attached mini travel drive or copy to a CD. I get the same message trying either--"Some of the files cannot be copied. Would you like to or .) If I check continue, none of the files are copied, as I mentioned before
