Can't find audio drivers for Presonus Firepod...

Just trying to hook up a Presonus Firepod version 1.0 on my ibook G4, running OS x 3.9. According to the manual, the Presonus core audio drivers are already supposed to be installed on the Mac, but they are nowhere to be found. I can't find anything on the Presonus or Apple website about this. Can anyone help?

When plugging in the
Firepod, it doesn't sync

THis is what I needed to see. As I said, there is nothing you need to find, the FirePod is Plug And Play. There are two ways to get it to sync.

1) Sleep the computer, turn on the FirePod and then wake up the Computer

2) Open up your Audio MIDI Setup utility (in your Utilities folder) and select any sample rate other than 44100, then select 44100 as the sample rate and close AMS (This is in the FirePod manual, BTW)

The FP should light up its Sync indicator

(BTW, I use a FirePod with a Laptop and use both of the above method. If the iBook is already awake I use AMS, though generally I jack in, turn everything else on, and then wake the iBook.)

I'm not sure why the FP isn't showing up in AMS, that's a bit weird. For me it honestly was Plug and Play, I didn't tweak anything. And when I checked AMS, it was right htere in the PopUp menus.

At least you did find a way that worked. For me it's not an issue because I'm nrining the laptop into the studio, so it's already asleep ... but it would be nice to know why AMS isn't showing the FP on your setup!

Anyway, enjoy your FirePod, it really is a great interface (from my experience) --Hang

Yeah, I'm working with a church band leader to try and get some recording done. He had done a real good job before but could only do 2 track at a time with what he had. Took a loooong time. What I'd like to do is take over that responsibility and get some nice sound from the talent we have.
Some of the worries we had were the hard drive speed keeping up in the 12" powerbook. I have a Dell right now but will eventually be converting over. I'm waiting for Apple to put their new faster processor in the 12" so I can have that mobility. When the irepod is being used to capacity, what is necessary to keep up?
