Just trying to hook up a Presonus Firepod version 1.0 on my ibook G4, running OS x 3.9. According to the manual, the Presonus core audio drivers are already supposed to be installed on the Mac, but they are nowhere to be found. I can't find anything on the Presonus or Apple website about this. Can anyone help?
I just poked around real quick-like and found a 300gig bare drive for $90, which is a pretty nice deal, and a nice hefty amount of space. Add a FireWire case for another $40 and you're gold.
Of course there are also deals on drives and cases already put together as well, jsut not as good as deals liek the above.
I am having a similar problem. The sync light on my firepod will be red for a split second when turned on, but then will switch to blue almost immediately, regardless of whether the firepod is connected to my iBook or not. The power is obvioulsy flowing through the firepod, as I can hear input through the phones out. I tried the sleeping/AMS trick to no avail. The Firepod doesn't show up in the AMS. Any ideas?
Hangtime...you appear to be a very helpful individual...I hope you can help me.
Blue light is on. The firepod is recognized in AMS. I click the prompt "configure speakers" because I am getting no sound through the speakers when I run an .RNS file in REASON. I click left speaker and right speaker prompts and no sound is coming through.
In REASON preferences the audio card is PRESONUS and a green check mark is next to it (as opposed to a red X mark)
The FIREPOD and Speakers work...I put a MIC line through it directly.
It has worked previously. But sometimes it does not. Even though the settings have not changed. Is this something wrong with the firepod? the macbook pro intel chip not working properly with the firepod interface?
I'm afraid I don't know anything about Reason, I've never even seen a picture of it B-(>
I'm also not sure what a "MIC line" is, but it sounds like you plugged a Mic into the FirePod and were able to monitor the sound the Mic was picking up. So that sounds like the FP is working which would lead me to think it is more likely a setting in Reason. You might be better off trying to Find a Reason forum where you could talk to people that really use it
