Music store incompatible with winamp

So apparently music downloaded from the itunes store are not mp3s. M4p's are not compatible with winamp, which isn't good for people like me who use it to play their music.

I guess my question is, "Is there any way to play itunes-purchased music in winamp?" and if not, "Is there a way to hotkey my multimedia keyboard to work with itunes while it's minimized?"

This question gets asked so much! Yes, Apple sells m4p files, not mp3s.

If you want to convert m4ps for Winamp (which I also really like, as well as iTunes), then burn a playlist to an audio CD and re-import them as MP3.

Good way to back up purchased music, too!

Go to iTunes > Help and Support > Contents > Burning CDs and DVD, open Creating your own audio CDs

it will bring up the steps.
