Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
When I try to activate Facetime on my iPad2 (iOS 4.3.1 and 4.3.2) using my AppleID and password, I receive an error message saying "Facetime Ativation Could not sign in. Please chack your network connection and try again." There is nothing wrong with the network connection - it is working fine for other applications (Mail, Safari, etc). Any suggestion what may be the problem here?

I tried setting my router dns to 8.8.8.8 as some suggested in other threads.
Tried resetting iPad too. I have no issue logging in to iTunes or me.com or apple support with the exact same ID.
Wifi only iPad so it's not 3G
At a dead end...
Settings/general/network/your wifi network /under the DCHP tab/DNS
Change DNS to 8.8.8.8
Thanks for the help. Resetting the DNS didn't seem to help, but do a full reset on iPad did. Well maybe it was a combination of the two.
That fixed the initial FaceTime connection problem for me. my dns had 8.8.8.8 plus an ip address supplied by my ISP. Removing my ISP supplied dns address fixed the problem. Thanks
You should add Google's secondary address as well. It should follow the primary like this;
8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
Just got my ipad 2 today. The first thing i tried to do was activate facetime, to no avail. Everything else seems fine.
Same thing as Nigel mentioned, this is what i got..
"Facetime Ativation Could not sign in. Please chack your network connection and try again."
No two answers seem the same on how to resolve this.
