How do I insert a CD to the iPad 2?

I'm trying to put a cd into the iPad 2 to play a track but the slot underneath the screen won't allow me. What can I do?

iPad 2, iOS 4.3.1

Certainly there is an adapter for the ipad to upload photos. If you have photos on a thumb drive, or an SD card, the adapter takes both. However, the usb adapter does not have enough power to drive a CD drive. Usually digital cameras mostly have the memory card that can be inserted in the adapter. See the link below.

Ok I've already looked into the camera adaptor and that's not what Im looking for... I already have that...I'm also not looking to burn or make music CDs or photos CDs ..all I wanted to do is take CDs of professional photos from my photographers and get them on the iPad without have to use any other type of computer..thanks for trying to help

Use a different media type to transfer to your iPad, cd is not supported.

There aren't any apps where you hook your iPad up to an external CD/DVD drive. Only SD cards. 🙂

Well... this post might have been long ago but it’s still worth commenting on. I believe it’s all a joke! But I also believe the guy is only trying to draw apple’s attention to the fact that something is still missing in iPad! And I agree with him... If not a full-fledged built-in optical drive (due to the size of the device), then apple needs to think of an external optic drive-supported SUB slots/slots. Obviously this thinking is too late for iPad 2 and below but for any future iPad, I think apple should give that a thought. That done, I guess we’ll not see this kind of questions again. Borrow a leave from Asus Transformer Prime...☺

No, they shouldn't. External CD/DVD drive are too archaic, too wonky to work properly for the iPad and defeat it's "highly mobile" purpose. Maybe if the External Drive had Bluetooth or Wi-Fi support yes, but NO CABLES PLEASE.

Apple is moving away from CD/DVD of any sort - both for media purposes (they make too much off iTunes to want to add a feature to play a CD/DVD) as well as software (the Mac App Store) and storage (iCloud). They're very unlikely to add this feature to a model that never had it, when they're working to get away from it on their computer models.
