My husband is also having the same problem. It started with the new Apple Communities. He tries to sign in, and he just gets the message
We're sorry. Your account could not be created due to system issues.
He filled in the form, and a couple of weeks later got a message from Apple. However the guy didn't know how to solve the problem. He tried to make a new ID, but it wouldn't accept his mobileme address, saying that the address was reserved for mobileme. He would very much appreciate if this could be fixed.
I am having the same problem. I can login to one of my accounts but I can't login to the other account. I try to change the password to the account I can't login in to but it doesn't send me the email to change my password and when I try to authenticate it by entering my birthday it doesn's work either.
Clay, I have been having the same problem as everyone, though I have been able to log in with my older account now. I had to stop using the 'user name' that had worked before, and had to use the email address associated with that account. My old password worked fine. But I've lost all my history and I look like a new member rather than a member for several years with a posting history. You said we should change the primary email address associated with an apple ID but I cannot find where we can change the email address for our profile. Can you clarify?
On a side note, when I got my iphone in Dec. I set up an apple id for the the app store as I did not realize that the account I had and used here for the discussions was the same thing. So I now have two accounts tied to different email addresses. I would like to close out the old one, the one I'm logged in with now, since I've lost all the history anyway, but I am not able to log in to the discussions with my new apple ID, the one that works for all my app purchases.
Unless I am missing something, which surely may be the case, I wish our apple ID did not have to be tied to an email account. that way we could have one idea and when email addresses need to change, as they sometimes need to, we could keep our account and just update the address.
thanks for any help anyone can give to sort out my questions.
I just wanted to report good news. I had filled out the 'auto support request' that comes up sometimes when trying to log in. An nice fellow named Jeff replied after about 2 days I think. I replied to him and tried to describe my situation, what I could understand of it that is ;-)
I also posted here. A nice fellow named Matt saw my post and sent me an email, to see if he could help. I checked in with Jeff, as I did not want to triangulate the help team and Jeff suggested I follow up with Matt. So, Matt and I began a week of email exchanges, trying to sort out why my original apple ID had stopped working, and then, having made a new one, why IT stopped working.
I just wanted to take a minute and say that Matt was great, patient, and stayed with me. I would check in with him via email every day, with what was working from that day and what wasn't. He would reply every day or two. In the end, with the info I gave him and following the suggestions he gave me, to take steps and let him look on the other end, we got it cleared up.
I am very grateful for his time and willingness to stay with me and help me restore my original apple ID and sort out the others, so I can choose how to use them. Since we cannot delete apple IDs, it is at least nice to be able to write them out on a list and keep track of them.
Many of us come here frustrated and scared, tired or worried we cannot fix things, and some times we cannot fix them. But Matt was great and I am very grateful to have my ID back and a tidy list of my info for future uses and wanted to share a positive experience in and amongst the frustration and questions that tend to define the forums.
Thank you Matt, You rock!
Michelle, who logged in with my 'newer' ID so I could reply to this post and acknowledge Matt.
I will go back to my original ID from now on.. no way to combine them.. but not that big of a deal.
I too am experiencing the same problem. It is clearly widespread, compounded by the fact that completing the form to report the problem does not yield me any response. And, as with everyone else, I too created a new Apple ID just so that I could post into Apple Support Communities.
Matt K, if you could help (or get someone to help) me out, it would be much appreciated.
Attention: Matt K.
It has happend again. My original user name and password have been deactivated, just as happened before. What keeps happening? My original username is associate with email firstname.lastname@example.org and is chenderson22.
I am having to use the secondary account again.
I can not log in using my ID...something I noticed, maybe I'm wrong but my ID contains a "_" in the spelling, I read somewhere that it must contain only English letters!
I changed my primary email to be able to post here but I would be happy to be able to login with my old ID.
so Matt K. if you could help me I would appreciate.
Just re-registered to be able to post this.
Same issue and message for me. Started yesterday (17 August). Had the one and only Apple ID for ages and get the same message regarding 'system issues'. Sent the requested emails in response but not heard anything.
Matt K - are you out there and able to help, please.
My usual connection name is: Paul_31
