iPhoto 11 and upload to Picasa web albums

Can I get some help on exporting a set of pictures or an album to my PIcasa Web Account?

I can click on Export in iPhoto, but I don't see an option to put in the URL for my Picasa account...

Help is appreciated!

Thankfully the plugin solution works. I have been an enormous Apple fan for the last 5 years, but I am getting increasingly disappointed about the way Apple is heading. It is not putting the customer central but its own eco system, with too many restrictions on its hard and software. For (amateur) photographers who rely on Apple, life certainly has not become easier of late. Okay, MobileMe was not great, but at least it was easy to put my photo albums online (iCloud has nothing much to offer other than photostream). Okay, now I can export to Facebook and Flickr from iPhoto, but why not allow users to directly export to Picasa and other popular cloud solutions? Okay, it is now much easier to edit pictures on my iPad, but why did you have to put all kind of hard- and software restrictions on it and make a photographers life more difficult? Apple, in my opinion you are well on your way to becoming the next Microsoft with its vendor lockins and lack of innovation. All you seem to care about is pushing more iPhones and iPads. It really makes me sad. And the saddest thing is that there is no way in getting this message across, because you are not listening and cannot be reached in any way.

iPhoto menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback is the route to the Apple Developers. That's how you reach them, so don't despair. I'm sure they'll love to hear what you have to say. Here you're just talking to other users.

But remember that iPhoto offers built-in uploading to Flickr and Facebook. There is nothing to stop Google from making a plug-in to do the same job. Oh look they did! Perhaps you need to ask yourself why Google have not updated that in several years. Or why they make it so hard to find? I wonder if it might be because Google want you to use their app and not Apple's, or Adobe's or anybody elses.

And you can directly export to Picasa and other cloud solutions. The iPhoto Library is available in every single upload/attach/open dialogue in the entire OS.

Other "popular cloud solutions" create and maintain plug-ins for iPhoto.

Lastly, there is no lock-in. iPhoto is not required. You don't have to use it. It's an opportunity, no more. If something else has the features that you prefer you're perfectly free to use that application.

Just thought I'd mention that before you share your thoughts with Apple.

Regards

TD

For what it's worth, I agree with Vlakjetserthink and think that Apple really dropped the ball when it did away with MobileMe photo galleries. Flickr just isn't very user friendly, and Facebook -- well, that's for discussion another time. Except for perhaps SmugMug, there really isn't a good third-party alternative to the MobileMe galleries (which handled photos and video) -- and Google is transitioning Picasa Web to Google+.
