Battery draining on iOS 4.3.2 on iphone 4

Same here. Not sure if some apps are causing this issue? I heard Apple is planning a 4.3.3 update, maybe this will take care of the issue. Or maybe ios 5.0 will finally resolve all issues!

I am having similar problem. I spoke to an apple assistant in Johannesburg and she informed me this is not possible. I have sent my IPhone4 for repairs and every time they return it advising no problem. I am now scared to download this upgrade on my IPod. It seems that Apple is unaware of this problem or prefer not to address or acknowledge the issue.

Try hitting the round home button twice and then closing all the apps that maybe open. When the bar comes up at the bottom, all the open apps will be shown there. Press and hold one of the apps till the X shows up and then close them out. Need to do this daily to save your battery! Good luck.

It is a complex problem. The iPhone has all consuming batteries techmologies incorporated, so if you use it all the time it will drain the battery really fast. So Apple hadn't found a way to do the battery last with all related techmologies enabled, then you only can follow some tips to do your battery last a little time more.

Uninstall iTunes then re-install it. This resolved the issue of battery drain bug for me and several of my friends. The problem is iTunes updates, not the iPhone OS updates.

I have even proved this theory to the Apple store geniuses repeatedly using several test handset of theirs and my own. They reported the issues to their management.

I have been experiencing the same problem. I haven't changed my usage, but my battery is performing terribly. It seems to have gotten bad just after updating to the latest iTunes update released on April 20th.

My phone started at 100%, and was at 27% within 4 hours! I'm so disappointed. I'm really hoping this can be resolved quickly.

My battery is doing TERRIBLE as well. Earlier, it went from 80ish % to 26% in 4 hours. I had like 5 small processes running, nothing big. I've noticed battery issues since the new iTunes came out, but it might as well be since last iOS update.

I've been told to deactivate ping in the restriction menu, will keep updated if it temporarly fix the issue, but I think Apple should look into this because. I need to be able to rely on my phone for more then 8 hours...

I've had the same battery problems since installing IOS4 on my iphone4. Charges don't last as long and it seems to take much longer to charge my phone when it is low. The phone also freezes in certain screens, it takes a minute or two to respond to commands intermittently. Apple support does not admit the problem but I will continue to complain.

I posted my problem some 3 days ago. As mentioned, I have spoken to sales people at IStore in Johannesburg and always get the same reply. As my IPhone 4 was sent for repairs twice, 7 business days each time, To prove my point, I decided to purchase a new IPhone running the previous software. I have experienced absolutely no battery drainage from the new phone. I have restored my older phone to the older version and Voila, no problems with drainage at all. I wish Apple will acknowledge their flawed update as I am sure many staunch apple supporters are having the same problem. All my computer equipment and gadgets are from apple so I am very surprised by their silence.

I just did more testing,

Without any apps running, my battery drained 12% in 3 hours. I turned on the restrictions for Ping and iTunes as well because I found a website telling me that it would fix it. No luck.

Finally called Apple support today. They told me that I needed to do Restore through iTunes, as a 'new iPhone'. I wasn't very happy about this, but I did do it.

The result? I've just had my battery drop 14% in 70 Minutes, while I reset all my settings.

(One of the first settings I did was turn off Ping as suggested in other posts)

Still a very unhappy iPhone user.

I also tried that and nothing changed. I noticed today that my batterie drops about 1% every 4-5 minutes when surfing the net or using other apps. But when I put it in standby it nearly didn´t lose battery at all last night...

harkon, wouldn't that usage be normal? 1% every 4.5 minutes equals out to about 7.5 hours of use, i believe the apple website says you can get up to 6 hours internet in 3g, up to 10 hours on wifi. key words 'up to' of course.

Just to addon what I mentioned earlier... This test above was done with 2 identical MacBook Pro models. One had the corrupted iTunes and the other had the good iTunes. Once you sync up with a fresh install of iTunes you issues will resolve.

OK, I´m giving it a try. Can´t get worse :-)

I´m going to report the outcome tomorrow I hope.
