Podcast that have been deleted from my itunes library still appear as an option on the 2nd gen apple tv. When selected the error message appears that there are no podcasts in this library. How do I get the apple tv to remove these podcasts.

In iTunes, make a smart playlist with the condition 'Kind Is Podcast'. The phantom podcasts should appear in the playlist. Option+Backspace to delete from Library

Awesome, this bug has bugged me forever. Effected all devices using my home network, even when podcasts were no where on the computer... This did the trick.
Thank you! I had to use "Genre" rather than "Kind" but it worked like a charm. Talk about an obscure fix.

I had to change to Genre too. The 3 podcasts that have been bugging me showed up then. Syncing my Appletv now. Finally can have a tidy podcast list.
Had to use Genre and "option-delete". Just Delete or command-delete didn't work. Thanks so much for the tip. This has been driving me crazy!!!
