Why is my iphone tracking my location to a secret database, wifi access points and cell towers?

Summary:

Security researchers have discovered that Apple's iPhone keeps track of where you go – and saves every detail of it to a secret file on the device which is then copied to the owner's computer when the two are synchronised.

What I want to know is how I can turn this off? I do NOT want this location tracked and I consider this a violation of my privacy as this is done WITHOUT my consent. Please provide a solution to TURN THIS TRACKING OFF.

I've been saying Apple has been hiding illegal activity since the day iOS 3 came out. Charging people to update then since iOS 4 no charge. When iTunes started breaking the iOS updates, Apple took their time to fix it. I said they were hiding illegal activity, they removed my entire thread. Threaten them about legal things and they go and try to bury it like they murdered a person and buried them so no one would find them.

Apple seems to be far more shady than Microsoft and that's pretty sad.

Next, this post will probably be removed because it tells the truth about Apple's operations.

Some of the ignorance in this thread is astounding.

People who clearly are not bothered or personally affected by location tracking services (or think it's 'kinda cool') seem to believe that this is a non-issue for everybody without considering the implications of legitimate individuals and organisations who could be affected by a violation of such a service with serious consequences.

I personally have worked professionally in areas where information relating to location (past, present and future) could put lives at risk.

If this does not affect you then consider yourself lucky, but don't attempt to inflict these potential terms of abuse on others.
