Can't connect FaceTime with iPad 2.

I agree - it worked for me like a charm. I was so mad that i bought 2 ipads and they wouldnt connect. I set the DNS to 8.8.8.8 on both ipads and it worked just fine.

i tried changing it to 8.8.8.8 but still doesn't work 😟

at the end of the day we all have new problems everyday. now my mom's ipad is warming up a little bit. And she is 8000 miles away so anyway.... Explain what are you doing? Those methods above do work very well. Hopefully you are not trying to Factime over 3g. Just as an edit, i recently changed my internet connection and obviously the settings were lost. I did not change the DNS this time, its on its original. Only my mothers ipad is set to 8.8.8.8 and we are still working fine.

I tried to change dns to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 many times, didn't work, but as I read this thread, I grid again and it worked! Just don't bother about ip, change the dns to 8.8.8.8 and wait a while, then try login again... Thanks for this tips!

8.8.8.8 worked for me as well. Not only on my ipad2, but on my macbook pro 13.

Mate this 8.8.8.8 DNS worked for us too in Australia but I had to use it on both iPad 2s at once. Good on ya for sharing. Thanks a lot. Also had to verify both emails as apple IDs and use the new passwords format , with one capital, one number and 8 elements.

great!. can also confirm changing the DNS on the iPAD2 makes facetime calling CONNECT when answring and permits initiation in soem countries. thanks!

lol... 😎 your iPAD2 is not defective! From some research I have done it is likely that the servuces requested by FACETIME to apple services.

In my case I found that the router's DNS for the subnet where the iPAD2 was connected in WIFI could not resolve one or more of the following used by FACETIME™ when it trys to connect to:

• configuration.apple.com on TCP port 443 (https)
• commnat-main.ess.apple.com on UDP port 16384
• commnat-main.ess.apple.com on UDP port 16385
• commnat-cohort.ess.apple.com on UDP port 16386

Putting any DNS in the iOS device that finds (reolves) these guys will work. the 8.8.8.8 (google-public-dns-a.google.com) works as well. I guess 8.8.8.8 will work most place (dunno about the PRC)..

Please help.trying to set up FaceTime on my ipad2,I put my email address in and apple I.d then it tells me unable to verify email address.it's the current address I'm using for iTunes etc.any tips?

You've got to go to your email account and VERIFY your email and ID by clicking on link apple sent you. Then your ID will be active and should no longer get that message. It's not FaceTime related.. Imho

I am in UK with Talk Talk - whose customer service was next to useless. afrter reading this thread I set my ipad DNS to all 8's AND its works!!! My IT Degree Son said its cos I have by passed TalkTalk in favour of Googles public server
