lol... 😎 your iPAD2 is not defective! From some research I have done it is likely that the servuces requested by FACETIME to apple services.
In my case I found that the router's DNS for the subnet where the iPAD2 was connected in WIFI could not resolve one or more of the following used by FACETIMEâ„¢ when it trys to connect to:
- configuration.apple.com on TCP port 443 (https)
- commnat-main.ess.apple.com on UDP port 16384
- commnat-main.ess.apple.com on UDP port 16385
- commnat-cohort.ess.apple.com on UDP port 16386
Putting any DNS in the iOS device that finds (reolves) these guys will work. the 8.8.8.8 (google-public-dns-a.google.com) works as well. I guess 8.8.8.8 will work most place (dunno about the PRC)..
