It's not so much the products as the attitude over by there, I use CS5, and it does all I need it to, but if I ever need support of any kind from Adobe it's a bad day.

Your strings & beads are humor but I still have my first comptuter. It's a K&E (Keuffel & Esser) model "Log-Log Duplex DeciTrig." (Look it up if you're not familiar with the semantics.) In fact, I showed it to some grade school students today. I worked on the Apollo moon landing program and I now volunteer to give school presentations.

Actually, I like Reader and the Acrobat concept. It began life as the only way possible for Macs to read MS-DOS files and vice-versa. It's still the best way to make a file viewable by anyone.
Flash doesn't bother me. I'm retired and I don't have a laptop anymore so I don't see the heat and battery issues and I've never noticed the resource hogging problem. As far as I'm concerned, the only important thing is that Flash is not supported by IOS devices and never will be. If anyone absolutely positively needs to view web contact that's available only via Flash (as I did last year), the solution is simple - use a real computer.

I left the program in January 1970 and went to work for RCA testing spy satellites. On April 17, 1970 (a Friday), I was working night shift and still did not have a date for the upcoming office party the next night. I snuck out of work early, betting a technician $10 that I'd show up with a date. Well, the 17th was the day that the Apollo-13 crew returned safely and finally there was something to talk about in the pickup joints.
I met this beautiful young lady and she mentioned the "13" landing. I naturally responded that I had tested the LM that was used to bring them home. She accepted the date with me to prove that I was a BS artist. We were married exactly a year later and I can now honestly say that I took my wife out the first time on a bet and she can honestly say that she always believed me to be a BS artist!
