So Chris, the Android crowd has been bashing iOS all these years because iOS users cannot access the "real Internet." So how are Jelly Bean (4.1) users going to do that now? How will the Android crowd get to the "real Internet" now that Flash is going away on Android? Just asking.
Should we start a poll as to the next excuse/talking point the haters will come up with as to why Flash is no longer important to have on Jelly Bean but iOS still ***** anyway? This is going to be hilarious!
When the subject finally just goes away, we should throw a online party.
I totally disagree, when you create sites now you have to output them in several formats; the web, iOS and android. It's stil a web page. So now when you create flash in create suite x, using adobe flash you just output it to the appropriate format; whether that is a swf for standard web pages or some other format for mobile media your source code is flash....try creating it without flash...a lot more difficult. So bottom line is that you create flash the way you always created but you will create several output versions depending on what you want to accomplish.
No. If your output is HTML5, it most certainly is NOT flash. It is HMTL and a non flash video source. You no longer need for the client browser to have the flash plugin installed for it to play. If it were flash, you would. Period. The application used to create the content may be the same, and the source of th content build may be the same, but the output is either flash, or it isn't. If it is HTML 5, it isn't flash.
I think Apple caused Flash to be killed, but I think it's a good thing.

Adobe has announced that as of August 15 Android users will no longer be able to install Flash through the Google market place. Adobe also annouced that Flash will not be supported on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and recommends users not install it as it could cause unexpected issues.
Now before the Flashdroids start blaming Apple for this it must be pointed out that Google said Android was up to 900K+ activations per day and claims to be the most popular mobile OS on the planet. If that is so why did Adobe decide to deprecate Flash on Android?
Flash is officially dead on mobile platforms people. End of story.
The irony is that the most annoying thing about Flash is/was all those adverts that slow down the browsing experience because they boot up before the main web page. The 'browsing experience' was one of the primary reasons Apple never let Flash onto iOS.
Yep, Apple did a good job promoting HTML5 in favour of Flash and now guess what. We get a load of HTML based animated Ads load up not just in web pages but in our Apps too. Anyone tried playing "Words for Friends" free (i.e., with Ads) on a 3GS? It takes longer to load up than it does for me to play a word.
I installed an ad-blocker on my iPhone a while ago to block the ads in the apps, but it got erased. I haven't been playing any Zynga games recently (for good reasons), so I haven't really felt the need to reinstall it.
Anyway, I'd take HTML5 ads over Flash ads. There was a Flash ad for RAM that said "Computer running slow?", and it actually lagged the computer on purpose. Whenever that stupid ad came up, the browser suddenly used 90% CPU. That's when I got Click2Flash for Safari then Adblocker. I have no sympathy for those ads. If I got mad at an ad, I used to click it a bunch of times to make them have to pay the webmaster.
Ad tracking is far more complex.
They track time on site, navigation history, what was viewed and if anything was purchased.
Just clicking an ad makes the webmaster on average .001 cents

Killed on IOS only.
Was watching cartoons with the kids this morning and a commercial came up about fruity pebbles and a game you can play online.
Grabbed the iPad, knowing I had a 1 in a million chance it would be playable since the web on iPad is useless.
And sure enough, couldn't play it, had to grab my sons galaxy tab.

Killed on IOS only.
It was never alive on iOS. But it has been killed on Android. Anyone who hasn't installed it before August 15th won't be able to as Adobe is withdrawing it from Google Play. There also won't be any new versions for Android released by Adobe either.
It's killed on Android too. Adobe has officially stopped it.
You beat me to it.

And Adobe claims they have done so since their market share for Flush isn't were it needs to be and apparently will never be to keep supporting it with mobile devices since Apple doesn't allow it on iOS devices. Then there is all this data provided about Android's great market share being better than iOS devices as a whole. Maybe Android hardware being so fragmented which will continue to get worse along with all the Android patent violations that haven't hit home yet was the tipping point for Adobe with mobile Flush.
