2011 MacBook Pro hard freeze - possible fix (man pmset)

I got fed up with all the hard lockups on my brand new 2011 MacBook pro. So I did some reading, called some IT buddies. We tried turning off Sudden Motion Sensor (man pmset). Well, well...after 48 hours, not one single hard freeze.

I think the litmus test is to re-enable Sudden Motion Sensor...but why fix something that (now) isn't broken? 🙂

Thanks for the info., esatcetin~

Got a question here, since you'll received new RAMs from apple, how about the other 2011 MacBook Pro users? WIll they(us) all be informed about this or such RAM replacement services are only for people who has reported their freezing issues to apple? BTW, did your apple service advisor mention anything about users from other countries besides the states (cuz i am now living in Australia) ?

I brought mine to the Apple Store and all they did was reinstall the OS and they told me to slowly reinstall my applications when I get home. I'm going back tomorrow to straighten this out because I'm getting tired of this. Before buying this Macbook I was using a 6 year old Core Duo BlackBook and never had any problems!
