Tether ipad 2 to HTC Desire

thanks for this. what settings need to be applied to the ipad to connect to the internet via htc desire? I`ve changed my phone settings but not sure what to do on the ipad. thanks in advance!

Will there be an added price to your Orange contract if you do this and does it change mobile Internet speed etc?

I've been doing this for several months with orange with no added costs unless you go over your data allowance

I have changed all of my settings and have now gone into the wifi section of my iPad 2's settings. The HTC Portable Hotspot becomes available and when I select it it asks for a password. I looked on my settings and it says that pword is 123 etc social entered it but it says unable to join every time? Have I done something wrong?

Had the same problem changed my password on my phone to my mobile number then just typed this into the ipad when asked

I'm on orange and did everything it says to on here but now when I type the password in it just says unable to join. It doesn't allow me to change the password it is faded so I cannot access it. Not sure what to do!?

have you set security to WPA2 (AES) in the portable wifi settings?

Up until about a month ago, around about the time my HTC Desire S had a software update, I was able to tether my phone with no problem to my iPAD 2. Now I have the same problem as other people have mentioned on here - the iPAD finds the HTC link, but I can't use the internet. I have just been told by O2, my mobile provider that this is an Apple problem and I can only use an iPhone to tether my iPad. I'm very confused after reading all these posts; is it O2 that's the problem? I've seen mention of Orange and ways to get around the problem but nothing about O2. Grateful for any help
