MavKeeper is invasive "crapware", malware that will take down the performance of your smooth running a few notches. And it's not a piece if software that OS X really, ever needs.
Run, don't walk away from this terrible software.
It does more harm than it is good for!!!!!
How full is your Mac's hard drive?.
Thanks. I have CleanMyMac installed already, so you are saying to dump it then?
My hard drive has 248 MB free. I do get the spinning beach ball thing a lot. I know this is an ancient computer I am using, but it is not like I do much more than email or social sites. Any ideas how to free up some space?
What is the capacity of your hard drive - you need to have an absolute minimum of 10 - 15 GB of empty space at all times for the OS to be able to run properly.
I'd throw out music, videos, etc (space hogging files) and put them on an external hard drive.
Completely uninstall CleanMyMac.
This is also crapware.

You are going to laugh at this then. My computer only has a 1 GB memory total. It is an old pre-intel mac. I do not download hardly anything and basically just use it for email and such, but I do have maybe 50 songs on iTunes. If I ever get hired again I will get a new mac, but for now this has to do.
