Just adding myself to the list, all photo apps do not work....resetting iPad and closing apps on bottom task bar does not help. This started after a morning, where IPad would not start normally, then after reset, started OK, but no sound at all, and buggy apps, no camera etc..... The. Somehow the sound returned....still no camera..

Many think this is a hardware problem, but it is not. After many attempt to fix the back camera on my iPad, I took someone's advice to let the battery drain completely. Amazing the camera was fine- not a hardware problem since the camera functioned normally. Low and behold the same problem occurred again. And again let my battery run dead. Fixed again, no wait, only fixed for brief period. Apple should address this issue instead of letting so many of us waste time with what is definitely a iso flaw.

I have this problem with my iphone 4, this was not a cheap phone but the warranty is expired, i purchased this cause it seemed like a great phone and everyone said they were the best. My next up-grade may need to go to a droid. I have tried restoring it from i cloud back up and restoring to a new phone as well as all stated above and still no luck. I have a different camera app and i can get that one to switch to the front facing camera and that one works. Hopefully next up-date will address this issue VERY VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😟

Oh wow! Thanks Goat400 - I think you hit on the solution. Not only is the update good (almost all updates are good) and not only is a 'restore always not a bad idea, but I think the last fact might have done the trick: You setup the iPod as a new one!

Okay..I've been following this thread for a year or so; tried a few suggestions. I'll try this one.

Um...but I will have to admit that 'setting up the iPod as a new one,' makes me wonder?

1. Will I have to use a new ID

2. Will I have to use a new password

3. Can I be assured that all my fabo music collection and apps will not suddenly disapper?

I'll research around the topic of setting up the iPod as a new one...but if you or anyone has any quick tips or links about that, that would be cool.

Um...I post results.

60wpm, When you setup the iPod (or other iDevice), It will be just like you got a new one out of the box.

So in this case: 1. You can use your existing Apple ID, and you can use your apple id with other iDevices too.

2. You can use your existing passwords with your iPod (or other iDevice), without creating new ones. You will need to input your apple id and apple id password to use it again though.

3. I Cannot reasure that, so research that up. If you don't have the music collection on your computer, then download or sync it back to your computer, because it will be deleted if you erase the iDevice and set it up as a new one. Also, your apps WILL be removed, so back them up as well! When you are done seting up the iDevice, go ahead and redownload the music and apps to the iDevice. If you still get the issue, then I cannot help you out. 😟 (I lost my iPod nearly 6 months ago at a party, and I can't locate it with Find my iPhone. So I can't really help out on this fourm really, as now the only apple device I have left is this: A Macbook pro).

I hope this helps you out! 🙂
