Duplicate iPhoto events in iPhone/iPad sync

I'm getting duplicate iPhoto events showing up when I try to sync my iPhone and/or iPad. These events are not in duplicate in iPhoto itself. I have tried repairing the iPhoto database and it's file permissions. I have no idea why iTunes reads these events like so (see included screen shot). Any help would be appreciated; thanks in advance.

@Marc_intosh,

I understood that you have installed the update, iPhoto 9.1.3. Is that correct?

Have you opened iPhoto 9.1.3 thereafter, then shut it down before attempting to synchronize your iOS device? If not, please do so and report back here.

If "the problem" still persists, where are you seeing the split events, in iTunes when you synchronize your iOS device, or not there but only on the iOS device after synching?

Which options are you checking in the Photos tab in iTunes during synching?

Please answer all the questions above. It is difficult to help you when you just tell us that "it" is "not working," but don't tell us what you are doing, what you expect, and what is actually happening.

Richard

Thanks a lot, Richard!

Thanks for your help and for your time.

Yes, I have installed the 9.1.3

Finally I have solved the issue as follows:

1 - deleting all the photos on my iPad (unchecking in iTunes)

2 - deleting the "iPod Photo Cache" on my iPhoto library.

3 - And then, synchronize it the iPad

Now, everything it's OK.

My problem with the duplicate events and the disordered photos was only on my iOs devices, not in iTunes, not in iPhoto...

Thanks again, Richard, for your help.

I hope my experience can help others.

Regards,

Marc

Add me and my partner to the list. I have iPhone 3Gs, she has iPhone 4 and we share an iPad 2 and the issue seems to be sporadically effecting all three devices.

Some time back I had this issue and fixed it. I can't for the life of me recall how. Or find evidence of doing it to jog the memory. Anyway it happened again on the last sync before we went over seas for nearly 2 months. Wow was I annoyed that almost all my photos were missing when I attempted to show photos of my work to other artists, retailers and family. -1 to Apple for that, don't suppose they would compensate me for potensial loss of income?

PS the spell checker doesn't work on this new foruym layout. 😟

I am still having problems with this - I am getting split events on all my IOS devices, but no such splits within iPhoto.

I have tried the following

downloaded 9.1.3 update

opened iphoto

closed out

shut down and restart

deleted ipod photo cache folder

perform a sync

but the split events are still there. I can even see the split events within itunes on the photos tab during syncing.

Is anybody else still having this issue? It would appear that 9.1.3 has fixed for most, but not me unfortunately...

First of all make sure that all the photos and events are nice and tidy in iPhoto. Then export your library using the iPhoto export function and choose the settings as shown in the pic. After export delete all your photos in iPhoto and then close iPhoto. Using finder find your iPhoto library, delete it, and then reopen iPhoto, import the pics from the folder that you stored them and voila! It did the job for me!. MAKE SURE THAT BEFORE YOU START THIS PROCESS YOU BACK UP EVERYTHING USING TIME MACHINE.
