Hey all, I'm trying to set up iCal to send an sms text message alert to my phone as describe on one of apples tutorials. Either my phone isn't working, or iCal is not sending the alert. Does iCal have to be open for this to work? Does macmail? Anyone have any suggestions, or can someone link up to a previous discussion that covered this topic?

There is no evidence of any facility to send an SMS. You can have a message, meaning a pop-up announcement, send an email, open a file or run a script.
Please post a reference to the tutorial.

thanks for checkin up on it.
The discussion posted by John has the information I was referring to.
The problem might be with how the telephone company handles email/sms texts rather than with iCal
I'll post a reply when I get this figured out.

Basically you have either to use Google: or if your phone provider has a service for converting emails to SMS use that; iCal won't do it.
