Ipad or Macbook pro 13 for travel??

I go to places like india and international places. I want to know if just bringing my ipad 2 would be okay for vacations. I would use it for entertainment on the airport and light school usage that i could use the internet and pages for. Also has anybody tried taking a Ipad 2 and or a macbook pro and which one has worked better. I am also worried about the heat, because it may be very hot there so i am worrying that it will ruin my devices.Any thoughts??

The only problem I have encountered is that not all motels, hotels have wireless. Some have an ethernet connection you must connect and that leaves the Ipad out. Example is many Vegas hotels.

Ipad is best on the air travel. I just rent a couple of movies from Itunes, watch them or play card games.

Do you know if there is a program similar to Adobe Professional for the ipad? I need to be able to convert a web page to a pdf and merge several "pages" documments into 1 pdf file. Any ideas?

jus go to appstore and download the vlc player....u can store movies of any format..
