Is there a short cut key/command to repeat the last action?
In excel Alt F4 (I think) repeats your last action. I can't find a similar command or short cut key in numbers. Can anyone help me?

Hello Kappy, glad o read you here.
It seems that we don't understand the question the same way.
My understanding is that the OP wish to be able to apply on an other object (cell for instance), the action which he applied on an other cell.
It's not what redo is achieving.

In Excel for the Mac it's usually been COMMAND-Y to redo again and COMMAND-Z to undo again.
Seems that's what I do with COMMAND-Y. But I don't have Office installed right now.
You're right for Word from Office but there is no such a feature in Pages.

What about Numbers? Isn't it supposed to be a clone of Excel within limits? I don't use iWork.
Krysia,
The answer is no, there is no such feature/shortcut in Numbers.

Who said/wrote that ?
Numbers is not a clone of Excel. I doesn't share the Microsoft philosophy which include every asked feature.
Apple engineers carefully select what may be added and what must remain as dreams/wishes.
Basically, they apply the good old rule :
++-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-++
Apple Human Interface Guidelines:
Apply the 80 Percent Solution
During the design process, if you discover problems with your product design, you might consider applying the 80 percent solution‚ that is, designing your software to meet the needs of at least 80 percent of your users. This type of design typically favors simpler, more elegant approaches to problems.
If you try to design for the 20 percent of your target audience who are power users, your design may not be usable by the other 80 percent of users. Even though that smaller group of power users is likely to have good ideas for features, the majority of your user base may not think in the same way. Involving a broad range of users in your design process can help you find the 80 percent solution.
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
At this time they offer around 250 functions when Excel have about 500.
Tables are limited to 256 * 65635 cells
Numbers is slooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwww 😟
Excel offer some database features, Numbers doesn't
In Excel, macros are back, they never arrived in Numbers.

Thanks Jerry. Not the answer I wanted to hear. I thought that such a basic command would be available. I used to use it in excel all the time.
Krysia
Krysia,
I remember using that feature in Excel, long ago. I'm not sure why I used it, and I don't particularly miss it here. If someone asked me which of the many features found in Excel not yet implemented in Numbers I would like them to do next, I probably wouldn't pick that one, just because there are others more pressing.
Jerry
Hello again
We all use packages differently. I do a lot of formatting in spreadsheets, and I used that feature all the time. I find it irritating to have to copy and paste the format from one cell to another. Anyway, I wanted to know if it was available as I couldn't find it, and now that I know it's not I'll have to put up with it!
Thanks again
Krysia
Right. Lots of those items in Numbers, a relatively young program, in its second version. Maybe the next release will have it
Jerry
HI Krysia, the lack of an F4 key has been driving me crazyyyyy too....BUT there is a repeat key and short cut. see the link below.

enjoy!!!
Jillianx,
Are you aware that this is a Numbers discussion, not Excel?
Jerry
So this is August 2014 and all the "next releases" made Numbers a nice spreadsheet app. Unfortunately, a "repeat last action" shortcut seems not to exist yet. Am I wrong? Please tell me I'm wrong...
Thank you.
